The Geratherm® Respiratory Diffustik is the ideal measurement device for lung diffusion, offering reliable, reproducible results from an infrared fast gas analyser. Diffustik has been developed as part of a modular system which can be expanded with the addition of further modules. Thus the carbon monoxide diffusion capacity (DLCO) and accompanying spirometry parameters, such as flow-volume and MVV, can be enhanced with other diagnostically relevant values, such as MIP/MEP, Rocc/Rint or respiratory resistance and lung volumes, with the addition of hardware and software option.
The height can be quickly adjusted over a wide range and allows measurements to be taken while standing or sitting.
The CO diffusion can be expanded with further options such as MIP/MEP, Rocc/Rint or integrated into the Bodystik.
The patient's cooperation of the breathing maneuver is evaluated according to ATS/ERS and feedback is given.
User-friendly with automatic interpretation.
Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) allows detailed diagnosis, classification and monitoring of lung diseases and expand the diagnostic value of spirometry. Therefore, it is an indispensable tool in internal medicine and pneumology. By determining the diffusion capacity of the lungs through CO (DLco), interstitial lung diseases and vascular diseases can also be detected.
Real-time analysis of inspired gas eliminates the need to calibrate the system prior to testing, significantly reducing testing time. The easy-to-understand graphical representation throughout the test procedure helps the user to identify possible leaks, e.g. at the connection of the patient's mouthpiece, and provides information about the lung anatomy.
Software options enable the expansion of the Diffustik to measure MIP (Maximum Inspiratory Pressure) and MEP (Maximum Expiratory Pressure). This gives important information about the respiratory drive and the auxiliary respiratory muscles. Another extension is the measurement of the airway resistance Rocc (Resistance by Occlusion)/Rint (Resistance by Interrupter). A test that is useful for less cooperative patients (e.g., patients with advanced disease, geriatric patients, or preschool children).
Expands the functionality of the Diffusik to measure respiratory drive using MIP/MEP
Bacteria/virus filter with high filtration rate to protect against cross-contamination.
In addition to the diffusion capacity of the lungs by single breath (DLco), the slow vital capacity (SVC), the forced vital capacity (FVC, flow/volume curve), the airway resistance (Rocc, Rint), the maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV ) and respiratory drive (MIP, MEP, P0.1) can be measured.
Yes, a (semi-)automatic report according to ATS/ERS 2005 is included. In addition, a proprietary interpretation graphic allows a quick visual evaluation of the results.
Yes, the acceptability and reproducibility of the examinations are automatically evaluated according to ATS/ERS 2005.
Reference values from GLI 2017, GLI 2012, ECCS 1993, NHANES III, Zapletal and many more are available. These can be displayed as absolute reference values, LLN, ULN, but also in relation to the measured values as % reference and Z score.
Yes, the data can be stored on a central SQL database. This means that the data can be accessed from several computers. The Diffustik can be used together with other devices from Geratherm Respiratory in a network via the common BLUE CHERRY® software platform.
