Geratherm Medical March 16th, 2020: Geratherm Medical manufactures medical devices such as clinical thermometer and devices for lung function tests. The current demand exceeds the supply by far.
The production of clinical thermometers will be increased gradually from 2-shift to 3-shiftsystem. The hitherto existing shift on Saturday will be kept. This arrangement will be kept until the mid of 2020, at least. Geratherm Medical is the only manufacturer of analogue clinical thermometer in Europe.
To secure the production of needed medical devices, the Thuringian Ministry announced today that Geratherm had been granted the special status “critical infrastructure”. This includes, among others, daycare for the children of the employees of the company.
