No, the Geratherm® non Contact is a non-contact thermometer.
The thermometer measures the infrared energy emitted by the skin of the forehead. This energy is captured by lenses and converted into temperature readings. Temperature readings measured by scanning the area above the eyebrow are the most accurate.

Use a sponge soaked in alcohol or a cotton cloth dampened with alcohol (e.g. 70% isopropanol) to clean the thermometer housing and the measuring sensor. No liquid should get inside the thermometer. Don't use aggressive ones Detergents, solvents or benzene for cleaning and never immerse the device in water or other cleaning liquids.

Observe the correct application according to the instructions for use. Measure again while observing the maximum distance to the forehead of 2 cm.
If the value is low again, carry out a control measurement with a conventional clinical thermometer.

For newborns under 6 months, carry out a control measurement with a conventional clinical thermometer.
A control measurement should also be carried out in children under three years of age with a weak immune system, in which the presence or absence of fever is decisive.
